Hand Embroidery
I thoroughly enjoy hand embroidery, particularly copying writing or images by eye. By working with sewing thread I can create intricate pieces, precisely following a reference.

Bobbin Lace Making
I have discovered the somewhat dying art of bobbin lace making, and have taught myself using videos, books and patterns basic stitches and techniques. The following images show the making process and complete pieces from the lace I made for my 1908 linen day dress in half scale, these were the centre front piece, two collar edging pieces, and a centre back piece.

Millinery
Post 1860s lady's riding hat made from buckram and velvet, with a chiffon veil trimmed with lace.

Dancewear
Leotard flat drafted and fitted, following my own design. Made in a four way stretch lycra. fully overlocked with elasticated leg openings, and cover stitching.
