Wardrobe Assistant, Maker, Dresser

Based on Janet Arnold's Patterns of Fashion 2, I have made Heather Firbank's 1908 Linen day dress in half scale, fitted to my made mannequin. For this project I wanted to create the garment to closest historical accuracy, within the limitations of working in Half Scale. I redrafted the pattern, hand embroidered silk organza, couching on the linen collar, created my own bobbin lace to decorate the front, back and collar. This garment is completed with period finishes and almost entirely hand sewn.
